Nowata Commissioners Given PPE Grant

The Nowata County Commissioners were able to plan for extra personal protective equipment items after a new grant was presented at Monday morning’s meeting. Emergency management director Laurie Summers said that Oklahoma Emergency Management had unallocated CARES Act funding to disperse to any county that applied. Summers says the county was approved for funds to be reimbursed.
Summers says a purchase order will need to be on the agenda to be approved at next Monday’s meeting. The board was able to brainstorm a few ideas of what could be purchased with the extra funds. District three commissioner Troy Friddle thought that having an extra sanitizing fogger would be a good idea. Summers also suggested placing an order for 4,000 cloth makes that could be stored.
