Copan Man Arrested For Assalting An Officer

A Copan man is in custody after he allegedly was resisting with officers and was in possession of illegal drugs.  18-year old Kahlan Lee Edens is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, possession of CDS, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer.  Washington County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in Copan located in the 100 block of South Maple where the suspect's mother called for assistance about her son becoming violent and was using drugs.  According to a court affidavit, Edens fled from officers on foot.  The suspect was found a short time later.  Reportedly, Edens wouldn't cooperate with officers and began kicking and resisting.  The authorities found in Edens' possession marijuana and illegal pills.  His next court date is June 13th.  Bond was set at $10,000.
