Barnes Wins Re-Election
Nowata County Commissioner Curtis Barnes won re-election for his District One seat over challenger Kellis Pierce. Barnes got 192 votes, 58 percent to Pierce 142 votes, 42 percent. Barnes was pleased what has happened in the past four years. Barnes said that exciting things are happening in Nowata County. There will a run-off for Nowata County Commissioner District Three between Bud Frost and Richard Miller. Frost got 49 percent of the vote to Miller's 36 percent. Stephen Armstrong finished third with 14 percent of the vote. The run-off is scheduled for August. Travis Dunlap won Nowata County with 61 percent to Randy Barnett 40 percent of the vote for State House District 10 race.
