Bellevue Advance To MCAC Championship

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team will have to win three games in a row to win their second consecutive Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference championship after Bellevue University Friday afternoon won 3-2 at Doenges Stadium.

Oklahoma Wesleyan led 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth when the Bruins scored two runs to advance to the MCAC championship round.  Despite the loss, the Eagles out hit Bellevue 8-4.  CJ Gregory went the distance and took the loss, giving up three runs on four hits, walked one, and struck out one.  Brandon Cummings went 3 for 3 at the plate while David Espinoza went 2 for 4.  Jeff Butler, Will Price, and Zair Koeiman each got a hit.  

The Eagles are now 44-11 overall and will face College of the Ozarks Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in an elimination game.  The winner will face Bellevue in the championship round Saturday afternoon at 1:30.  The IF necessary game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
