Lady Bruins Lose to PC West - Area Up Next

Putnam City West hosted the Barltesville girl's basketball team for its 6A Regional title game on Saturday afternoon, and the Lady Bruins gave the Lady Patriots all they could handle. 

In a tremendous effort, BHS fell to PC West, 54-47, losing its first game in the postseason. 

Bartlesville moves on to the 6A Area tournament - BHS will play Owasso in an elimination game in the consolation bracket. BHS would need to win two straight games to head to state. 

Putnam City West outscored BHS 18-12 in the decisive fourth quarter to seal the win.  BHS led the Lady Patriots 35-34 with 1:15 to play in the third quarter - the Lady Bruins also had PC West (23-2) tied at 38 with 6:31 to play in the fourth.

However, PC West would outscore Bartlesville 16-9 down the stretch. 

Bartlesville (15-9) was led in scoring by Lauren Richter, she finished with 11. Avery Allen added in nine. Emily Hicks and Destiny Harris were huge in the first half when the Lady Bruins had some foul trouble Hicks finished with five points, all in the second quarter. Harris had six. 

The Lady Bruins will find out the date of their Area game with Owasso early this week.

The Lady Rams lost to Ponca City in the title game of their own regional 40-37 on a buzzer-beating three-pointer from the Lady Wildcats.
