The Nowata Ironmen will return to the field for the first time since October 2 with a rare Monday night contest at Kansas High School. The Ironmen are still searching for their first win on the season and could have their best chance at it.

The Ironmen and Comets have played great games over the last two years. Each side has won a two-score ballgame. Nowata won last year 22-12 for homecoming. In 2018, Kansas won 20-6 in a ballgame played in a miniature tsunami.

The Comets are 2-3 overall and 1-3 in district. Their only victory came by a slim margin, 14-9 over Salina. Nowata head coach Graham Snelding gives a scouting report.

The Ironmen received some good news last week after discovering that they will be headed to the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Despite being 0-5 so far, Nowata knows it will be competing for something come mid-November. Snelding says getting into the playoffs is a huge boost.

Nowata makes the long trip to Kansas, Oklahoma on Monday night for 7 p.m. kickoff. Radio coverage can be heard at 6:30 p.m. on KRIG 104.9 FM.
