A Bartlesville man was been officially sentenced after being convicted of manslaughter at trial in September. Dalton Taylor was sentenced to 26 years in the Department of Corrections during a hearing on Tuesday. District Judge Linda Thomas followed the recommendation of the jury on the sentence.

Taylor was initially charged with murder but the jury only found grounds to convict on the manslaughter charge. Taylor shot and killed Daniel speck in alleyway on Eight Street in Bartlesville in July 2019. Two co-defendants have already entered guilty pleas on lesser charges related to the incident.

Taylor will be given credit for time served. He is required to register as violent offender upon his release. The defendant is currently 26 years old.
