There are a couple area high school teams in postseason basketball play on Thursday – as both Copan and Barnsdall have game number two in the playoffs.

In Copan - the Hornets advanced to Class B Regionals after an upset win against Bluestem this past Saturday. Copan won their District 64-58. The Hornets now have a winner’s bracket game in Mulhall-Orlando against Timberlake. Timberlake is 23-1 and is ranked as the No. 1 team in Class B in Oklahoma. Here is Copan head coach Kevin Foreman.

The Class B winner's bracket Regional contest will tip at 8:00 PM – the game is non-elimination, Copan will live another day win or lose.

Class A Bracket - Class B Bracket

For Barnsdall, the task is just as tough. The Panthers beat Ripley 45-42 in their Class A District on Saturday. Barnsdall now travels to Frontier to take on the host – Frontier High this evening. Frontier is 24-1, and is ranked as the No. 1 team in Class A. Barnsdall head coach Clif Warford says that stuff shouldn’t matter.

The Panthers and Frontier also tip at 8:00 PM.

If either Barnsdall or Copan should win on Thursday – they would be one victory away from advancing to area in their respective classifications. If they happen to lose – they would face elimination the rest of the postseason.
