Dewey School Board Approves Next Phase of Construction
The Dewey School Board met Monday evening and heard an update on construction and looked ahead to the next construction project. Superintendent Dr. David Wilkins updated the board on construction on the high school saying it was still on track. The middle school and elementary school however are both behind schedule. The middle school floors are unable to be finished because of high moisture content not allowing tiles to be laid. The elementary school is still suffering from delays caused earlier in the year which have caused a domino effect, forcing everything else back. After hiring Jonathan Stowe as the new high school social studies teacher and Jessica Serafin and Michelle Johnson as PreKindergarten teacher assistants, the board moved to bond issue items. The board approved an amendment with Nabholz Construction to begin the process of building the new baseball/softball hitting facility. The board's next meeting is scheduled for August 4.
